Volunteer for Wings up for Wilmington 2026

Willowdale Community Farm is part of CEII, whose mission is to grow, feed, teach, and heal through the power of community and connection to the land. We create enriching experiences that foster hope, stewardship, and belonging. Through education and shared community engagement, we cultivate healthier people, stronger relationships, and a more resilient future for our community. Willowdale Farm is a special project of the nonprofit Community Enrichment Initiatives Inc. and relies on volunteers to grow fresh vegetables to give to our food insecure neighbors.

Volunteers will tend to the farm, preparing rows within fields for planting, adding fertilizer and planting fall crops. Volunteers may also hand water, harvest and tend herb and pollinator gardens and fruit trees. Other options include mowing and weedwacking and the cleanup and removal of branches and weeds if enough volunteers, time and equipment. There may also be some painting to do if not already done by September 18.

What to bring: Closed-toed shoes, Hat, Sunscreen, Water, Clothes/shoes for painting, Clothes/shoes for getting wet or muddy, Work gloves, Insect repellent, Snacks
